Why should I have my wedding filmed?

You’ve heard it before - the one thing people regret not having at their wedding is a videographer. But why? Wedding videographers / filmmakers offer a unique service. Photographers are fantastic at freezing moments, so they last forever. However, powerful storytelling through motion and sound is incredibly compelling, meaning that a beautifully crafted wedding film always becomes one of a couple’s most treasured possessions. Words aren’t able to do it justice! Take a look at our films.

Do we meet before the wedding?

Yes. A pre-wedding consultation is included with all bookings. We love to meet our couples before the wedding day so we can go over your schedule and get to know you more. A face-to-face meeting is great to do if we’re local to each other, however, we arrange a video call with most couples. Either way, we’ll arrange a time that works for you.

Can you do Drone footage?

Yes. Aerial footage is included in all our wedding film packages. We have all the required licences and insurance to operate a drone commercially. The use of the drone is dependent on local restrictions and weather. Prior to every wedding, we do our flight safety checks and send over any relevant documents to the venue.

Should I add a second photographer?

Second photographers are ideal for weddings where there are more than 100 guests to ensure more consistent coverage of wedding guests is achieved. It's also useful to add a photographer when multiple locations are involved. An additional photographer can easily be added to any of the coverage options .

How many images will we receive and do we get usage rights?

Image numbers largely depend on how much coverage you opt for in your package and whether you add a second photographer. During a typical full wedding day (bridal preparations through to the early hours), and with just me as the photographer, you will receive roughly 500 images. You are assigned full and unrestricted personal usage rights to print and share/distribute yourselves.

Do you do group photographs?

I regularly do around 3 group photographs at each wedding and will request a group photo list before the wedding day.

Why do we need to charge for additional coverage?

Why do you make short films?

We’ve dedicated the entire day to your wedding, so we won’t be racing off to catch other plans that evening. However, we need to charge for additional coverage primarily because there are costs of having the team stay for additional hours.Furthermore, the additional photos taken will need to be post-produced which adds to our overall costs.

When deciding on your videographer, you should consider what you want from your wedding film. Do you just want everything captured and played back to you? or do you want to relive the emotions of your day? We think less is more. All our packages include a 4-7 minute highlight film. This is the main, creative edit of the day and it’s what you’ll have seen on our website. After filming and editing many weddings, we have found that this is the perfect length to tell the story of your wedding day in our creative style. It’s also perfect for sharing online and watching with friends and family.

How long will it take to receive our films and photographs?

We take the greatest care in the editing of your films and it is the largest part of the work involved. Our usual delivery times are between 4-6 months.

Where does the music come from?

We pay to use fully licensed music from independent producers online, so we won’t run into any copyright infringement and neither will you. The cost of licensing this music is included in our packages. We do welcome your music suggestions, however we do spend a lot of time choosing the music appropriate to tell your story. Please note that we sadly can’t use commercial music from big artists like Ed Sheeran. It’s illegal. Unless we pay him a lot of money.

When do we pay?

It’s a 30% booking fee to secure the date and the remainder of your payment is due 1 month before the wedding date.

When do we pay?

We only require accommodation if the wedding is over a 2 hour drive from Taunton (TA2). In this case, we need accommodation for the night before and of your wedding. This doesn’t need to be anything fancy, just within a 20 - 30 minute drive from the venue. We can arrange this ourselves and let you know the cost before booking.

Do you touch up all the images in our image download?

Yes we do. Every image we deliver is post produced with our unique signature style of post-production. This involves color correction, exposure adjustment, selective black and white processing, clarity adjustments, tone-mapping, and other corrections. Many photographers will not post produce any images, or will only post produce “select” images from your wedding. This means that you may have pictures that are too dark, have strange skin tones or other common photography flaws.

What is the difference between advanced and custom; and why are there additional costs for a custom retouch?

Advanced post-production includes touch-ups such as removal of blemishes, removal of bags under eyes, removal of fly-away hairs, etc. On the other hand, custom post production is anything that requires extensive, custom work in Photoshop such as removing entire objects from the scene, changing the size and shape of body parts or other objects in the scene, adding objects to a scene and other custom work. We charge hourly for the custom post-production as the time required ranges depending on the complexity of the project. Please contact our studio manager for a quote for custom post-production.

Do you hand out the raw files(straight out of camera photos)?

Each of our packages comes with a full resolution image download. However, we  do not provide RAW (unprocessed) files from our shoots because we believe in delivering a finished product. In fact, we’re often shooting with the end (post-produced) product in mind. However, on occasion, we may provide RAW images along with our post-produced JPG’s for an additional fee and restrictions.

Do you hand out the raw files(straight out of camera photos)?

No, we do not deliver anything that is straight out of camera.
